– 15 sec, 5 min, 10 min, 20 min, 1 hour, plus 1-hour master study
🪞 Extended Portrait (3–4 hrs)
– Plus a portrait photography session to capture a quality reference for an Old Master-inspired oil painting utilizing the infamous Zorn palette!
In this course, we begin with head lay-ins through the Loomis Method, establishing a clear framework of structure and proportion. From there, we introduce the Reilly Abstractions—a dynamic system of rhythms that bring unity and vitality to facial features. By combining these two approaches, you will gain the ability to construct heads with both accuracy and expressive flow, building a foundation for strong, confident drawing studies.
